If you read our posts, you should know that we have officially moved to our long term home. Here's a link to the new improved Legion of Old Motors!

We've added many useful features such as the ability to map any post to Google maps which should make it very easy to find where we are riding. We also now have the ability to book rides! Check it out and sign up!

If you're one of the LOOM posters, what the hell are you doing here unless you're transferring old content to the new site?! (please do this if you get a chance... I'll be doing it over time either way)

See you on the new site!

Dickhouse Mayhem

Not really knowing where to go and Ryan's bike being out of a clutch, we decided to go to Dickhouse again, Ryan riding the old TY 250.

We went waaaaayyyyy out there go some previously unexplored areas.

Eventually we got out o there and carried on riding, keeping in mind that we should do stupid stuff on the way back.

At some point we had to clear the track of some trees, so we shot some more mild riding footage, and fooled around the track a bit, until we had the satisfaction of seeing one of us getting hurt. In this case, Bret took his bike right in the balls.

Here's Ryan, doing the same tiny bit, without balling himself.

And Finally, on the way back, we hit
Crazy Deep Puddle
and obviously had a lot of wet fun.
At this point we crossed that puddle a couple of times, but we always took it on the left. It wasn't very convenient because it's hairy and slippery, so, since the day was almost over, I decided to take it right in the middle. Opposed to what Ryan is saying in the clip, I knew how deep the puddle was; A couple of weeks earlier we stayed jammed at those same puddles, got passed by a bunch of riders and we lost track of one of them in that same puddle, for a second. He vanished.

Bret took that same puddle right after me, with a little more success.

Oh it's on, Dickhouse!

Man.. .We need helmetcams!! ! it is almost impossible to hand hold a camera while riding. With one hand is downright scary!! !
you could duct tape it to your chest? maybe your helmet? make a carrier for it? bungee it to your bike? i dunno.. .but i do know that letting it hang off your wrist isnt that good.
WARNING - THIS VIDEO COULD CAUSE DISCOMFORT

A new camera and this is what i do to it.. .poor poor camera:(

Uber Wopwops

So we've been riding pretty much every weekend. Here are some random footage.

2004-04-04 | Dickhouse area (Lake Shaunigan) | Bret, James, Karl

We went along a mountain for quite a while, found new tracks and stopped for one of our many safety meetings. You don't want to mess with safety out there...

2004-04-10 | Cobble Hill | Ryan, Karl, Paul, Bret flat tire.

Nice day, but unfortunately Bret blew his tube while changing it so he couldn't ride. We went all around the quarry, around the new trenches and blockades. Still good times, but it's a bit of a small playground. We'll go swimming / fishing there this summer, for sure.

Blueberry flats - Mt Baldy - Burnt Bridge - There seems to be lots of wet spring riding going on. SO nice to get on the bikes so it makes for many trips with different combos of people. Great fun -
one problem - WE DONT ALL HAVE HEMET CAMS!! ! - with live uplinks and GPS and.. .and.. .

So Ryan is now livin in Shawnigan Lake - CONGRATS!! !
We get lots and lots of new riding spots. So on a rainy February day we went. we heard about trails at Mt.Baldy so exploring the area trying to find trailheads without directions ended us right in town-oops. We ended up riding a ways down the road to the train tracks then circling around to the trails. Im sure there is an easier way. the ride was awesome and found lots of well maintained quad and single track trails. We only killed ONE bike.HEHE.
The pic is from the top of the mountain- kind of a rainy day but you can see Shawnigan pretty good - sidney was way off to the right and you could just see Cowichan lake off in the distance - We have to go back on a clear day!! !
