Hello all followers, here's a quick update about our lack of updates.
Having problems carrying a fishing rod while dirtbiking ? No problem, carry a reel and ducktape.
Lets hope this nutcracker dude on the sign at trailhead X isnt a premonition to the day?? ?
A very wet day out on the bikes - not too much rain but a lotta big puddles and i think we hit every creek crossing within 5 km at least once - no matter how deep they might look H-HA
the fire at Steemsok lake was the perfect topper to the day -a sign of many camping days to come!! !
What a ride last weekend -
A long ride using all the daylight always leaves us a little hazy.. .
- We rode some crazy creek beds - tried some jumping - climbed some rocks around the power lines - a little bit of everthing, we explored the area from trailhaed x to just about tugwell lake.
found some unmarked, unnamed lakes so we took liberty - twosun lake - and glimpse lake
we always leave our mark and come out with more garbage than we go in with;)

Had a great time up near Boyd's pit the Wednesday afternoon. We got in near the bridge just past Anderson Lake road. They dug it all out trying to keep us out but someone already made another path! Ripped around in Boyd's for a bit and then headed up the road. Came to a 3 ways split in the road, took the right hand road and right at the end we found a damn which we named Epic Falls. Have a look at the pic. Sweet place to take a nap and blast one back!

Well, we had a pretty sweet ride at Shaunigan (Cobble Hill or whatever) last Sunday. Here's a bit of random documentation.

Me and K went out on Sunday hoping to find a way in to Butler Main for some fast riding. Ended up tailing a truck with a couple bikes out of Sooke and found a SWEET new riding spot that isn't too far out. I'd post pics but the powerful and crafty Trailhead X was able to thwart me by way of a dead battery in my phone.
You should have been rid'n not film,n. Get that KTM on the road .Have maybe some pic's here. Some 7 people ticketed here in th Hood:) 4 ridn near th firing range ,was going to go tomorrow but change of plans.Will try and send some more soon if I'm able to LoOM.
So what should we do?
1 - Continue riding in the Wopwops of DeepSooke, giggling like little girls playing with a chainsaw for the first time. (yea... I know.)
2 - Attend familial "obligations" and spend quality time with the family, eventually falling asleep, after a couple o' beers while watching some random movie with the bitter sweetness of a task about 65% completed but the gratitude of the family cell. (pff!)
3 - Make a montage of all of us randomly dancing in various scenery and post it at this very site. We're LoOMing. It could also be Extreme Ironing or some other things that kids don't do these days.

I just bought a sweet-assed bike woot! It's a 1995 KTM 300EXC. It included all the gear including new boots, a pretty nice helmet. Scary fast, can't wait to take it out!
What a blast! Blueberry flats has to be one of the funniest places to ride to date! Tons of diverse riding and knarley straight stretches. Props to the klan for helping each other out and keeping the bikes running all day! Thanks for a great time!
If you haven't been up here in a while, they've dug a huge trench in front of the gate... we discovered a new entrance which can be found about 300 meters closer to Sooke.

That's the view from the top of the mountain you reach when you enter through the end of Kingburne, then take that first steep left (where it starts to get fun), then right on the crazy way down (instead of heading down to the gravel pits / lake). It's what I've found to be the funnest track so far. Crazy climbing, lots of technical stuff, and in many areas, if you stall, good luck getting back going again.
But fully worth it!
As it happened to us, you may encounter people on top of that hill who will wonder how you got up there, because from the top, the way down isn't obvious, but when you're going up, with the adrenalin pumping, it's pretty straigt forward, doesn't even cross you mind you may not make it up.

Here's a place I've yet to ride, but I've heard there's a good mix of logging roads and technical climbs. We have been riding about 2kms up from here along the next long straight stretch which is awesome! Endless trails and lots of everything. It's very easy to get lost up here.
The only downside? I've heard sometimes cars get broken in to along the straight away of Westcoast Rd.. Usually lots of people parked there though.

On a sunny day this is a sweet place to spend on the bike. There's a locked gate at the trail head which means you don't tend to see anyone on the trails or lakes. This is a fast paced ride down pretty smooth trails. Not much technical, but damn! The road runs along the Sooke potholes, then several lakes. Rods, beer and riding are friends of Butler Main.
Complaint? You have to drag your bike under the gate if you don't have a truck that can match the gate height.
You're not really supposed to be here so if you do happen upon a truck or something just nod and keep going like you're supposed to be there. ;)
